Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it
Roald Dahl
It’s lovely to meet you.
I’m actually MacKenzie, though I often go by Kenz or Kenzie. I’m a designer, prototyper, and more.

I love to take a systems level approach and connect dots in new ways. That’s what excites me most about trying new things and hearing new perspectives. The more dots to see, the more possibilities to connect.

Luna, my retired greyhound. She is delightfully weird.
Sewing - quilting, human clothing, dog clothing (Yes, Luna and I could seamlessly fit into the opening of 101 Dalmatians. No, I’m not ashamed.)
The highs and lows of design and tech. Exploring the ways it impacts our lives now, as well as the possibilities it opens.

I love that space where two things intersect, curious things can happen.
Textiles + Technology: clothing as an interface
Digital + Physical: moving away from screens into the built environment
Tech + society: the good, the bad, and the possible

A serendipitous moment, the splendor of nature, or something else — magic is all around.
Catching the precise moment all the street lights turn on or off
Discovering moss villages thriving on a tree brach or the naturally symmetrical patterns of plants
When the radio song provides the perfect soundtrack for a scene in your life
I believe in…
Magic
Whether it’s an immersive digital experience that makes you believe you’re on another planet or looking up into our own ever expanding cosmos — magic can be found everywhere. And it can come from anyone.
Experimentation
As a wildly curious person, I love learning new skills and gaining new insights into the world through experimentation. I like to experiment with physical computing, projection, fabrics and textile techniques, and creative coding, to name a few.
Designing with, not for.
Design is powerful — and it should be inclusive, equitable, and ethical. I love futuring and speculative design as a collaborative tool to design with people. Breaking free of the problem/solution mindset and asking people to dream and imagine.
